Figure Of Speech : SATIRE

Satire is a composition in verse or prose to ridicule the faults of individuals or communities. Unlike Sarcasm, it aims at improvement and reform rather than hurting and embittering.

Examples :

  • Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels
  • Byron’s The Vision of Judgment
  • Pope’s The Dunciad
